ABOUT STONE RIDGE

Why Eventing?
Cynthia Wiseman began riding as a child, spending weekends trail riding on her great aunt and uncle’s farm near Chanute, Kansas. Her formal riding education did not begin until the age of 29, after graduation from veterinary college and a move to North Carolina.
Cynthia and her mount, Agitated Hawk, began foxhunting with The Triangle Hunt in 1999. The thrill of riding cross-country led them to the sport of eventing. Cynthia began her eventing career under the tutelage of Terri Pace of Cedar Rock Farm, Karyn Becerra of Iron Horse Farm, and Paige Gesing of Goldhorse in North Carolina. Cynthia and Hawk completed their first horse trial in 2002.

Why Combined Driving?
Cynthia’s interest in Combined Driving began after watching her fellow veterinary classmate, Jennifer Thompson, compete in the sport. After several years of “threatening” to teach the extra re-sale Games pony to drive, she finally put him to cart in 2021 and was instantly addicted to the sport.
Combined Driving has been an exciting new challenge; offering the adrenaline of eventing’s cross-country with the physical and mental problem-soliving of transitioning her ridden knowledge to driving aids.

Combined Driving Education
Cynthia is fortunate to have been guided by Advanced level competitor Jennifer Thompson and therefore has had access to quality instruction from the start.

Carrie represented the United States at the 2022 World Single Horse Driving Championships and was named as an alternate to the 2020 World Single Horse Driving Championships. She and Gellerhudt earned the USEF Combined Driving Horse of the Year title in 2022. Jenny earned the ADS Preliminary Championship and is currently competing at Intermediate.
Additionally, Cynthia has driven in several clinics with Thorsten Zarembowicz, 2010 World Single Horse Champion and former USEF Combined Driving Team Coach.

History of Stone Ridge
Stone Ridge was established in 2003 and was based on 50 aces approximately 45 minutes west of Springfield, MO near Miller, MO. Stone Ridge West offered riding instruction and equine training in addition to hosting clinics and a winter eventing show series. The cross country course had banks, ditches and a water complex along with significant terrain.
The Wiseman family relocated in 2019 and established Stone Ridge East. The 34 acres just outside of town offered proximity to school activities for our family. Cynthia regained her amateur status at that time. We plan to offer more competitive opportunities when the child’s sports commitments diminish
