LI’L BIT OF TROUBLE
“Li’l Bit” aka Shitlet
2009 12.3 Chestnut Sportpony Gelding
L’il Bit joined Stone Ridge in September 2019 as a resale Games Pony project. His bold temperament and compact size created a fun, sporty little Games mount. Cynthia enjoyed his pony’tude and he soon became a resale fail. He was simply too much fun not to keep around.
Li’l and Cynthia competed in USMGA games events and hunter paces before putting Li’l to cart in July 2021 with the help of Advanced Combined Driving competitor Jennifer Thompson. Li’l Bit is super simple on the ground with a forward attitude under tack. He has been a joy to introduce to driving and bravely tackled the My Revelation Carriage Classic in August 2021 as well as the Helmuth Combined Test in Ames, Iowa.
Li’l completed his first Combined Driving Event in March 2022. and his first Preliminary CDE in September of that year. This pair has continued to grow and show improvement across the phases. Li’l Bit concluded the 2023 competition season at Valkyre’s Haven Preliminary with a double clear cones and brought home the award for the Lowest Dressage Score of the event.
Cynthia and Li’l Bit were named to the USEF Combined Driving Developing Athlete Program in 2024. The mission of the USEF Developing Athlete Program is to provide guidance and educational resources to cultivate selected athlete/equine combinations who display the potential to improve the national standard of the sport and eventually contribute to a U.S. Team score at FEI Driving or Para Driving World Championships
