Hampton joined Stone Ridge in October 2008 on a lease offered by Cascade Sporthorses. Cynthia and Hampton completed their first Preliminary Level horse trial in May 2009, their first CCI* Long Format in October 2009 and their first Intermediate in October 2010.

In 2012, Vote Yes was purchased by Stone Ridge Eventing and their successful partnership has continued. The pair earned the USEA Blue Ribbon Award at Intermediate in 2012 for placing 1st – 3rd in three horse trials in the same season. In 2013, Cynthia and Hampton completed the Richland Park CIC** and placed 11th in the nation at the American Eventing Championships at Intermediate Level. In 2014 the pair won the CIC** at Roebke’s Run in Fairfax, MN and placed 2nd at the Colorado Horse Park CCI** in Parker, CO.

Hampton is a keen cross-country horse and a brave, independent thinker. He has earned the title “RockStar” and even has his own song before heading out cross country. He is opinionated yet sensible with an excellent work ethic.

Vote Yes was retired sound from the Intermediate level of competition following the 2014 American Eventing Championships where he finished his career with a stellar performance.  He piloted Josh Belles around a Preliminary competition in 2014, then took Jen Lender to her first Training Level the following season and Reagan Wiles through her first Novice in 2016.

Hampton was laid to rest at the original Stone Ridge in August 2018 after a long fight with pleuropneumonia. He will always remain the Original Rockstar and the Cynthia’s once in a lifetime.
